A lot of nuthin'

I know, it's been a really long time since I last posted. That seems to be the trend amongst my blog friends here lately. We were sucked away by crazy work schedules, too many commitments and the entire family getting the flu in one week. During our absence, Matthew turned 37 and hates that he's even closer to 40. Jacob is in the midst of potty training and particularly loves getting an M&M after each try. This morning he thought it would be cool to have his pants and training diaper around his ankles while watching cartoons.

Elisabeth is busy trying to be the social, yet responsible, butterfly that she is. Kindergarten is still going well and we still LOVE her teachers. We also saw the birth of a much anticipated little boy that caused us all a lot of worry. Welcome Caleb!

We have mostly just been hovering through these dreary winter months. But today, the sun is out and it will be 60 degrees, giving us just enough taste of Spring (and confusing my tulips so that I will lose them at the next freeze.)

We are moving into what I call the Birthday Party Season. It seems as if most of our family and friends have birthdays in the Feb-March-April-May months. Every weekend is booked with birthday celebrations. While fun to celebrate, it sure packs a punch on the wallet. Oh well, you only live once...right??
