Well, here we are. The last day of July. We've had a wonderful summer together as a family - splashing around in the neighborhood pools or in our back yard. We went on vacation and visited much loved family. But now we must focus on August. August will bring the start of first grade for Elisabeth and thoughts of fall.
I even had my first scarecrow sighting in a store yesterday.
We've been busy buying school supplies and uniforms. I have also started weeding through the kids' cool weather clothes, even though we don't get cool weather in Kentucky until almost November. I can't help myself - my mind has already drifted into fall. Plus I am an organization freak, something I can't seem to parlay to my husband.
I have loved every minute of this summer with the kids and Matthew. We have spent a lot of time just being with each other and listening to the kids laugh. There really is nothing better in the world than that. I will miss summer but will carry these memories with me. I am reminded every day how blessed I really am and I am incredibly grateful.
