Ice Storm

We are at the tail end of an ice storm here in Lexington. It's supposed to turn to snow today and end by tonight. I was supposed to travel to Connecticut for work today but had to cancel my plans due to the weather. CT is getting up to 7 inches of snow today!

We had our first experience with ice storms in Feb 2003, just 2 months after we moved to Kentucky. We lost power for 4 days during that storm so I am counting our blessings that we didn't lose power this time. Still, there are thousands in Kentucky and across the nation who are without power so my prayers are with them now.

Here are some pics of the storm's effects around our house. I am not leaving the house today! I walked (skated) two doors down last night to give something to my neighbor and almost fell multiple times. It's treacherous out there. I'd much rather have a foot of snow over all this ice!
