Fastest Kid in Town

There's a race in Lexington each August called the Midsummer Night's Run. It's one of the most popular races in Lexington and in my opinion, one of the best events to participate in for this area. It's a great way to catch up with friends as we always seem to run into folks we know.
There's a kid's component called the "Fastest Kid in Town" race. Runners are grouped by age, one to sixteen years old. It's so much fun to watch the little ones run each year, some pulled by their mothers and others eagerly racing towards the finish. Elisabeth has run this race every year since she was two years old. Last year she even won her heat for her age group. I think she fully expected to win this year again but unfortunately did not. It was a good lesson for her to learn. She can not win at everything she does but still should try her hardest. Regardless of the winner, she still had a great time and little brother Jacob eagerly cheered her on. (Thanks to Pop Pop for the wonderful photography!)
