Spring Break 2008 - Day 5

Spring break is OVER! Well, we do still have Saturday and Sunday to get through but the bulk of spring break is over. Let me tell you, I am ready for it. I love my child but found it difficult to keep a curious and active 6 year old constantly entertained. Elisabeth has just recently started reading chapter books and she went through 4 of them this week alone. That's a tremendous success given we had such a busy week. We had a fun week but I think she is ready to go back to school and I am ready to go back to work. Now, to today's adventure!

Due to the never ending rain in Lexington, we decided to go to the movies and see the newly released "Nim's Island." It was a cute movie that we both enjoyed. Sometimes, it's an exercise in patience for me to sit through some of the children's movies we see. This was was entertaining for both of us. I did not take any pictures of us at the movies but do have one of Elisabeth reading one of her chapter books in the car. The reading bug has latched onto her and she read every spare moment this week. Her favorite books right now are The Magic Treehouse series. I am so proud of her for expressing an interest in reading chapter books in kindergarten. I am also content knowing that I managed to work in some educational stuff during her week of fun. Back to our routine we go....
