Spring Break 2008 - Day 3

Today we travelled to Harrodsburg, KY to visit the Kentucky Fudge Company. I found this place while searching on the net for things to do in Kentucky. The history of the building is pretty neat. The building used to house an old drug store and some of those signs are in the building today. Elisabeth and I had a mid-morning snack and just enjoyed the atmosphere. We even brought home some yummy fudge to share with the rest of the family. After that, we went to Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington where we read, played and fed the ducks outside. It was a pretty low-key day but it was nice to spend time together, just the two of us. I felt a little guilty this morning when I dropped my son off at daycare knowing Elisabeth and I were going on a little adventure. It's important that I take days like today to spend some quality mother-daughter time with her, though. Her little brother gets a lot of attention due to his age and inability to live in the world unassisted. I wanted to give her some one-on-one time to reconnect and let her know how important and special I really think she is. It was a successful day and we really enjoyed spending time with each other.
